An Island Between, II

The sediment that was to form the island turned into rock. And those who came to study the rock found wondrous fossils to bring back home. But that was a very long time ago, and some of the island’s rock has since been turned into glass. With the kinds of bombs that were tested near it you’d mainly measure severe to total devastation. They made this greenish glass that probably blends in well with the plants that grow there now.

The island is very remote by our standards, no one has ever lived in the area. Which must have helped when it was to be exiled from our new, digital collective memory. It has also been named and renamed so many times that it’s hard to even know how to look for it. You can still see it from space though.
